Littlegreen School

Supporting and developing the whole child

Newsletter May 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope the boys are enjoying the week and you all had a lovely Bank Holiday weekend.

Occupational Therapy

I met with Clare Rader last week. Clare has worked as an Occupational Therapist in the field of Paediatrics for over 13 years. She has experience working with children of all ages with both mild and complex disabilities; including Cerebral Palsy, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Co-ordination Disorder and Sensory Integration Dysfunction. She has worked in a variety of healthcare settings, in both mainstream and special schools, nurseries, children’s homes and respite care places. Clare will be working at Littlegreen next half term. She will be going through the pupil’s EHCPs to identify Occupational Therapy needs and to put programmes in place for the pupils which can then be carried out by TAs. This will allow us to ensure we are meeting the pupils’ OT needs and providing bespoke programmes in school.

National Autistic Society

Following replies from parents, I have arranged a session with the National Autistic Society on Dealing with Anger. This will take place next half term on the 18th July. A flier is attached with details. Some staff will be completing NAS learning modules online.

The Other Wedding of the Year

It was so lovely to spend such a delightful and yet bizarre day with parents and visitors. A true ‘Littlegreen’ experience. The day marked our Royal Wedding celebration as well as the reintroduction of RE to the school’s curriculum.
